The jungle pool
Copal Tulum's main pool is not beside the jungle — it is inside it. Turquoise water winds between timber decks, loungers under palm-thatch umbrellas and walls of greenery, with pockets of sun and shade that shift with the hours. It is the social heart of the property, where breakfast stretches, books get finished, and the green juice comes to your lounger.
Every evening at 6, the property holds the daily Copal ritual at the infinity pool: sacred resin smoke, intention and sunset — a small daily ceremony that sums up the philosophy of the place. No sign-up needed; just be there.

The infinity pool
On the upper level, the infinity pool spills its edge toward the jungle canopy. It is the sunset spot par excellence: the sun drops behind the palms, the sky performs in coral, and the water mirrors all of it. Early mornings it is often nearly empty — the best-kept secret for a quiet swim.
Private pools
A large share of Copal's rooms include a private pool of their own: jungle-level plunge pools wrapped in greenery, or pools on private rooftops with pergolas, loungers and a green-horizon view. If your idea of a vacation is a midnight swim without sharing the water, look at the Jungle Private Pool and Rooftop Private Pool categories on our rooms page.
Good to know
- Towels and loungers. Pool towels are provided on the property; loungers at the main and infinity pools are first-come, and on weekdays they rarely run out.
- Food and drinks. Copal Gastro & Bar service reaches your lounger: green juices, coconuts, ceviches and the cocktail list throughout restaurant hours.
- Kids. The shared pools are family-friendly; the private in-room pools have no lifeguard, so little ones always accompanied.
- The 6 p.m. ritual. The Copal ritual happens daily at the infinity pool at sunset: arrive a few minutes early and claim your spot facing west.
- Cenotes with kids or grandparents. Ask the concierge for easy-access cenotes with stairs and platforms: Gran Cenote and Casa Cenote are the friendliest for all ages.
The world of the cenotes
Tulum sits on the largest underground river system on the planet, and the cenotes — sacred wells of crystal-clear fresh water — are the region's unmissable natural experience. The property's team organizes hidden-cenote explorations and cenote ceremonies as part of its experience program, alongside temazcal, Sian Ka'an tours and more.
The nearby classics: Gran Cenote and Cenote Calavera minutes from town, Dos Ojos for world-class snorkeling, and Casa Cenote where fresh water meets the sea. Ask the concierge to plan around your group: there are cenotes for calm swims, cavern diving, and crowd-free photos if you arrive early.
