The neighborhood
Copal Tulum sits in Aldea Zamá, Tulum's most exclusive residential enclave: a planned district of tree-lined streets, low-rise architecture and jungle quiet, exactly halfway between the town center and the beach hotel zone. Ten minutes one way, tacos, markets and local life; ten minutes the other, white sand and beach clubs.
That in-between position is a real advantage. Tulum's beach strip is beautiful but loud and pricey; the town is authentic but far from the water. Aldea Zamá gives you the quiet to actually sleep, standout restaurants within walking distance — including Kokoro on the property itself — and the flexibility to reach any point in Tulum by bike, taxi or car in minutes.

From Tulum airport (TQO)
The new Tulum International Airport is about 20 minutes away by car. Exiting, take the road toward Tulum centro, merge onto Highway 307 northbound, and follow signage to Aldea Zamá via Avenida Kukulcán. Airport taxis and private transfers know the development well; just say "Copal Tulum, Aldea Zamá."
From Cancún airport (CUN)
From Cancún it is roughly 1 hour 40 minutes down federal Highway 307, a straight, well-kept road running the length of the Riviera Maya past Playa del Carmen and Akumal. Arriving in Tulum, turn toward Aldea Zamá on Avenida Kukulcán and follow signs to the hotel. Options: a private transfer (the most comfortable, bookable in advance), a rental car at the airport, or the ADO bus to Tulum's terminal plus a short taxi.
Getting around Tulum
From the property: the beach and its clubs are about 10 minutes away; the town center, 10; the clifftop Tulum ruins, about 15; Gran Cenote, 15; and the Sian Ka'an reserve, about 40. The bicycle is Tulum's official vehicle for short hops, and taxis are everywhere. If you are planning several cenotes or Cobá, a car for a day or two solves everything.
Practical arrival tips
Three house tips. First: if you land in Cancún after 8 p.m., a pre-booked private transfer is worth every peso; Highway 307 at night is long, and airport taxis charge a premium. Second: download offline maps of the area before you fly; the signal along the highway comes and goes. Third: inside Aldea Zamá the developments look alike after dark — tell your driver "Copal Tulum, Avenida Kukulcán, Aldea Zamá" and you will arrive without loops. Any doubt en route, write to us and we will help you coordinate.
